Travel to Estonia

Ruled by great kingdoms who all left their mark, Estonia has much going for it. A treasure trove of historical sites, medieval cities, unspoilt nature, more than a thousand islands with excellent beaches, it even has the longest ice road when the Baltic Sea freezes. To top it all, Estonia managed to bag one of the most captivating cities of Europe - Tallinn. Dating back to the 10th century, Tallinn still has a stunning medieval old town where you find most of the 14th and 15th century houses in their original size and form. You won't have to walk far to find wonderful restaurants and a vibrant nightlife in town. Estonia's food is authentic, with fresh seafood on the menu and organic vegetables straight from the farm.

Travel Highlights Estonia

Old City of Tallinn
Tallinn is one of the most beautiful cities in the Baltic. The old city is like stepping into a fairytale: Where ever you look you will find an enchanting combination of charming cobblestoned streets and beautiful medieval buildings. Bars, craft shops and street traders mark the streetview and give Tallinn its very special atmosphere.

Song Festival Ground
This is a very important place for Estonia. Once every five years Estonians come together and celebrate Estonia's independence with a song festival.

St. Catherine's Passage
St. Catherine's Passage is one of the most picturesque streets in Tallinn. It is famous for its craft workshops. Here you can watch artists creating new goods and get the chance to buy a souvenier which has been crafted in front of your own eyes. Where else can you do this?

Toompea Hill
Toompea Hill is considered as the birthplace of Tallinn. The limestone hill is home Toompea Castle, the seat of the Estonian government and the parliament and provides visitors with beautiful views over the city. Here you can also find the Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a beautiful peace of architecture. Built in 1900, this Cathedral was a symbol of Sovjet power over Estonia. The gothic Cathedral of St. Mary the Virgin, or Dome Church, is the oldest church in Tallinn. The first records about this Church date back to 1233.

Town Hall Sqare
This is the true heart of Tallinn. Here you will find bars and restaurants, and a market providing traditional Estonian souveniers. There are also small festivals and concerts organized.
It is the oldest town hall of the Baltic countries and Scandinavia.
